Sunday, Sept 7th – The front that came through
cooled down the temperature nicely, we relaxed reading in the cockpit and
planning our next move down the Chesapeake. While looking at our loose agenda, we came to the
realization that it took three weeks to travel the 600nm from Oswego, NY to
here, Chesapeake City…we moved a lot quicker than we needed to. Our boys are
coming to visit us in Annapolis the weekend of October 4th, so we
have three weeks to spend exploring the north end of Chesapeake Bay before
arriving in Annapolis, 50nm away. It truly is time to relax! That being said,
our blogs will be much shorter as I don’t want to bore everyone with the
minutia of what we cooked for dinner each night.
While sitting at the Tiki Bar, chatting with Steve and
Linda, this huge boat came through the C&D canal…
what a crazy thing to see when you’re not expecting it…we would have hated to meet up with it while
transiting the canal. On the nice weekends, CC is packed with boats and cars coming in for lunch. Steve and Linda dropped by our boat on their way out and stayed a while to chat.

We planned our departure Monday for slack tide (at the point the tide changes from low to high and the water is still with no current) around 10:00.
