A stay at the Skipjack Marina

Tuesday, Sept 9^th – the weather outlook for the week doesn't look great; high winds expected over night
tonight. We had decided yesterday that we will stay the night at Skipjack Marina by Georgetown at the end

 of the Sassafras River, just a couple miles further up river as we needed a pump out as well. This is a beautiful large marina that costs less to stay at than it does on the Wall at Toronto Island…power, unlimited water, WiFi, nice bathrooms & showers, swimming pool, tennis…what a deal! We tackle a dirty job now that the waste tanks are as clean as they will ever get again and do a few loads of laundry.

The docks at SkipJack are not floating docks like most other marina's we have stopped at which move up and down with the tides, so tying up to this dock with 3 foot tides changing every 6 hours was a little tricky. Our dock is well protected from the wind which made the day hotter and more humid. We can't believe the warm weather and we're not that far south yet! Yahoo! 
Later we walked over to The Granary for a great view of the river, a drink and appetizer, which became our dinner. Along the way we passed by a mound of clam shells...the restaurant crushes them up and uses them as gravel for the patio and grounds.

Back at the boat, Julie challenged me for another game of Scrabble…(Hey Steve S. FYI, the official Webster Scrabble dictionary you gifted to us didn't have ‘coak’ or ‘yike’ but they are on dictionary.com…those were big points for me! LOL). Steve....he actually challenged the 'official' Webster Scrabble dictionary!!
