Wednesday, Sept 10th – Always a good night sleep
at dock…in no rush, we topped up our water tank which holds about 128 gallons.
The longest we've managed before filling again is ten days; but we have never run
out of water yet.
We left the dock around noon and travelled 5 minutes down
river to anchor near the bank. It’s nice to be at dock for all the amenities,
but it’s also great to be at anchor…the freedom, quiet and seclusion in these
parts.
We looked at the charts, Google Earth and read about each
area as we made rough travel plans for the next
3 weeks before arriving in Annapolis. The image is a screen shot of the charting package we use on the Ipad that allows great zoom-in capabilities. We are located at the red arrow in the top right corner. The image is of the top third of the Chesapeake. Although not labelled, Baltimore is on the west bank in the middle of the image.Cooked some spicy shrimp on the barbie for an appetizer and later BBQ’d dinner, sat to watch the sunset and chatted a while….early to bed.
We were told that this journey will feel like a vacation at
first, then you settle into the life style…we’re starting to feel the change
and loving it! Julie and I are having a great time together.
