On Monday, it was another trip into town, this time with our friends...the guys, Larry and Anthony in the liquor store are getting to know us well. Brian and Jane on Mar-A-Lago dropped by for an afternoon cocktail and the six of us made plans to move towards The Navy's on Tuesday. It was dinner again on BoomDeYada as the stove on French Kiss wasn't working. We cooked some spaghetti sauce and noddles (gluten free), planned our next anchorage and played Scrabble...it doesn't matter who won, its that we had a good time. ;)
Early Tuesday morning we took the dinghy into town one last time for groceries and a shower. We unpacked the groceries, lift 20lbs of weeds and an anchor and headed into the Gananoque Municipal Marina for a pump out and water. Shortly after, the 3 boats headed through the Scopion Islands towards Endymion Island where we motored by three anchorage unable to find room for us that we weren't dropping the hook in 40-50ft of water - using the rule-of-thumb of 5:1 (5ft of rode for every foot of water depth) that would mean we need to drop over 200ft of rode...that's a lot of swing room for those bays...we moved on. Ultimately, we manoeuvred our way through and dropped hook on the North side of Sugar Island...not a great place but the afternoon was ending. Brain and Jane invited us all to their boat for cocktails...proper etiquette is that you bring your own drinks and a little dish of snacks. Before we knew it, it was almost 21:00 (9PM), a four hour cocktail hour...what's this world coming to?
Left-over spaghetti on our boat and a second game of Euchre...rubber-match to come.
Cheers
