Finally sailing

After dropping Adam and Laura ashore to their car, we prepared the boat for departure (checked oil and coolant levels, checked weather forecast, charted our exit from the harbour and confirmed our destination) we left at 10:00. The winds were in our favour and for the first time we were able to sail...the sound of silence is a beautiful thing....no motor! We had both sails reefed (not fully hauled out) and we were comfortably doing 4.5-5.5knts, we didn't have far to go up the Adolphus Reach. I had found some time to start playing with the SPOT GPS tracker and finally got it working properly...we can be tracked every 10 minutes or so. We stopped in at Kerr Bay around 13:10 with eight other boats. We were thinking about going to Stella Bay but decided we'd stay in this peaceful looking bay instead. We ran the genie today....took advantage of the power we had and vacuumed and did some computer updates while we could. Overall, it was a kind of a 'do nothing' day as we only had to make it to Kingston for Monday to pickup a package.

If you didn't know, we purchased Boomdeyada in the the USA so the chart plotter had marine data only for the USA, I didn't want to spend $250 for Canadian data when I already new the hazard (lack of hazard) for Western Lake Ontario. Well, today, the data for the 1000 Island was available on the chart plotter...yay!
