Our friends, Colette and Cara who are coming from Toronto are
making good time and should be here Sunday afternoon. We headed back into
Gananoque to replenish and stock up on vegetables, we have begun freezing our vegetables.
Also, as we are really being good about conserving water on the boat, I’m going
to splurge $2 for a nice hot shower and shave at the marina…how life has
changed, but we are loving it and loving the simplicity...it’s easy to get
caught up with the more money we make the more we spend and the more luxuries
we have…it’s nice to get back to basics, although we sure do miss regular hour
massage.
It was a good sunny day to get a few jobs done around the
boat. As I was balled up in the engine room I heard someone yell, ‘Hey
BoomDeYada’, it was friends, Brian and Jane, from our yacht club. They were
stopping by the 1000 Islands on their return home from a one year trip to the
Bahamas…they said they just didn’t want to go home yet. As they sat in their dinghy and held on to the
side of BoomDeYada we asked and listened about their adventures. We agreed to
get together tomorrow when they bring their sailboat over by us…looks like we
will soon be socializing with three other couples.
We BBQ’d some Venison (deer) steaks and prepared the boat
for the storm set to hit tonight…the rain and wind started at 04:00 followed by
thunder and lightening…it was nice to be dry in bed…gaining confidence in our
anchor, we quickly went back to bed.
Cheers
