In this cruising community by George Town, there are many activities to do if you wish, or you can find solitude on your own secluded beach as well. Among the many activities already mentioned there is yoga and water aerobics every morning, you can rent a car to explore further on the island of Great Exuma, even visit the Tropic of Cancer. By way of the VHF radio, we put our names down for an excursion to the north end of the island.

Thankfully the bus was air conditioned as we had several stops to make under the typical hot Bahamas sun. Our ultimate destination was a restaurant on the beach for a buffet lunch.
We visited the Hermitage Tombs from the early 1800's; an old jail where slaves had escaped; dropped by Sandals Resort but they wouldn't let us in to see the property.

By the time we arrived at Exuma Point we were quite hungry. The food (all the typical Caribbean foods - curry this and that, chicken, plantain, sweet potato, coleslaw, rice and fresh fruit), the atmosphere and the scenery were excellent. We walked down the beach a little ways where a hermit (American soldier) lived for years in a cave on the beach.
